Auto Collision Repair

SIC Code: 7532 NAICS Code: 811121

Auto collision repair shops have the potential to emit hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) that are regulated by both the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.

On January 9, 2008, US EPA signed into law a new rule known as the Paint Stripping and Miscellaneous Surface Coating Area Source Rule (40 CFR Part 63 subpart HHHHHH), known as "Rule 6H" to reduce the emissions of certain HAPs from the spray application of coatings and from paint stripping using products containing methylene chloride.

Renewal Training for Georgia Painters

Check your Painter Certification files periodically to determine when renewal painter training is required. Rule 6H requires refresher training for painters that apply spray paint to metals and plastics every five years.
